I've been a trucker for the last ten years but now I am back home at "Camp Chaos" and I will be working at the Fontana terminal as a safety specialist. I hope now that I'm home I'll have a lot more time for blogging! Email Me. I check my email whenever I get a chance. Dad and the Nuclear Missile convoy. Last week on his trip from Las Vegas to Great Falls, Montana, Dad was privileged to have a full Military escort for about 100 miles. At first it was a little unsettling as he noticed a helicopter flying about 30 feet above the truck doing figure eights. Apparently the helicopter was using Dad's truck as a reference point. When Dad got to Great Falls he found out that the helicopter was actually escorting a military convoy moving nuclear missiles right behind him!!! Just another day in the life of a trucker! From Montana Dad headed to Spokane Washington picked up a load and then took it to Menomonie Wisconsin. From there he is heading to Oklahoma City for a Wednesday morning delivery. He is due in Addison on Friday to check out Shawn's new prospective house. Yay for Shawn! Friday, February 21, 2003

Hi everyone, it's actually me Tom this time... thanks to Brenda for all the updating she does for me, I really appreciate her! I am in Hemet friday and part of saturday. I'm supposed to get a load and leave saturday afternoon. I'm glad at least I will be able to be at Jim and Rachel's wedding. When I walked into our house friday, my wife informs me that our black cat Inkspot has just brought in a 6 inch lizard minus his tail.... well, I looked behind the curtain where I could see a comotion going on, and I was surprised to find not a lizard but a very much alive and very upset gopher! Not hurt at all! Well I looked around for something to capture him with but all I could find was a two foot stick sitting on the fireplace hearth, so I grabbed the stick and chased the gopher around the living room for a few minutes. I finally cornerd him behind the couch and the wall and 'Wham'... one dead gopher! Whew!... "Inkspot! STOP bringing critters into our house!!"...I'm glad Sue didn't have to deal with the gopher. Well tomorrow I'll be back on the road so watch for further updates... bye for now... Tom Wednesday, February 12, 2003
Yay! Dad is in Salt Lake City and heading home. He will be in Hemet this weekend for Jim and Rachel's wedding but will leave very soon after that. Tuesday, February 11, 2003
Sorry for the lack of postings. For some reason I can't email Dad because the company I work for is classified as a spam mailer and therefore the trucking company has been kicking back anything I email to dad. He's working on having them change that. So here's an update from a phone conversation: Dad is currently in Lincoln, Nebraska waiting patiently for a load to Salt Lake City. He's stuck in a truck stop with little to do because they don't offer an online hook up. But the good news is that it is not snowing, it's "relatively clear" and it's only 30 degrees F! Here's the scoop: From San Jose Dad went to Haywayd (shout out to CSUH!) and then on to Los Angeles. From there he picked up a load to Houston and spent last night in Las Vegas. This morning he was just east of Tuscon, Arizona. Monday, February 03, 2003
Dad left Hemet this morning to get his tires taken care of and to get an oil change. Now he is headed to San Jose, California. < |
